Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions families ask us most

How does admission to Ridgewel work?

Admission follows an individual assessment of the prospective resident’s care needs, mobility and any behavioural considerations. This helps us confirm we can meet their needs safely before they move in.

Is accommodation always available?

Room availability changes regularly, as Ridgewel accommodates a maximum of 13 residents across private single and en-suite rooms. Contact us for current availability.

How much does assisted living cost?

Pricing is personalised, since room types and individual care needs differ between residents. We don't publish prices online — contact us for a quotation specific to your situation.

Can Ridgewel accommodate special diets?

Special diets must be discussed with management in advance, so we can confirm we’re able to accommodate them appropriately.

Does Ridgewel care for residents with dementia?

Residents with dementia, wandering behaviour or behavioural symptoms may be considered after an individual assessment, to ensure our setting and staffing can meet their specific needs.

What does 24-hour support actually mean day to day?

Qualified and trained staff are on hand throughout the day and night, with nursing support available on site or on call, medication administered per each resident’s care plan, and daily basic vital checks.

Are laundry, housekeeping and meals included?

Yes — meals and light refreshments, laundry and housekeeping are part of everyday life at Ridgewel for all residents.

Does Ridgewel offer day care as well as full-time residency?

Yes. Elderly day care runs from 08:00–17:30 daily, with supervision, meals, companionship and activities, for seniors who still live at home.

Can a family arrange a short-term or respite stay?

Short-term or respite stays can be arranged with management, subject to suitability and availability at the time.

Is Ridgewel able to provide emergency medical treatment?

No. Ridgewel provides assisted living and personal care, not emergency medical treatment. In a medical emergency, residents are referred to appropriate medical or hospital care, and families are kept informed.
